4. Maria Augusta de Castro Viewpoint

The Maria Augusta de Castro Viewpoint, in Porto Judeu, offers beautiful views of the Cabras Islets, the volcanic islets off the southern coast of Terceira, as well as part of the coastline and the Atlantic Ocean.

The viewpoint is also very close to the Refugo Natural Pool, a swimming area with direct sea access, lifeguard supervision, and a play area, so you can also take the opportunity for a swim after visiting the viewpoint.

And if you'd like to keep enjoying viewpoints, Fajã do Fisher and the Cruz do Canário Viewpoint are very close by — two other spots from where you can see the islets. If you visit all three, you'll get several different perspectives of the Cabras Islets while enjoying a very easy drive along the southern coast.
