11. Salgueiros Beach

Salgueiros Beach is a peaceful beach with clean, calm waters. The beach is made up of pebbles and has stairs that make it easy to access the sea, as well as a natural pool fed by the ocean. Next to the beach there is a grassy area with picnic tables, perfect for resting in the shade or having a bite to eat by the sea.

Although it is not very large, it has a pleasant atmosphere and you won't find crowds here — something that is not always the case at some of Terceira's natural pool beaches.

A great time to visit is after hiking the São Sebastião Forts Trail, to cool off if the weather is nice, or as part of a tour of other nearby swimming areas such as Porto Martins, Riviera Beach, or Praia da Vitória.
